Should ask for more investigation

I am 34 yrs old, I have had multiple procedures regarding endometreosis.
About 4 weeks ago I started experiencing back pain. Long story short,
I had an abdominal and transvaginal ultrasound yesterday. Dr said I have a cyst on my right ovary (I have had lots of cysts)
and a small kidney stone. He said that he did NOT thing the stone should be causing this back pain, but is dismissing the cyst because it is small.
My last two cycles have been very light lasting maybe 2 days and the back pain is constant.
I had an aquaintance that passed of ovarian cancer. She had many of the same issues Ive had in the past, and when the cancer hit it started with back pain that was dismissed for years. I dont want that to happen. What is the likely hood the ultrasound would actually pick up an ovarian cancer if it was early onset? What do I request next...my back hurts! and I know I am prone to these problems. I also have HPV,
Thanks for the help

Hi, it sounds like we have a lot of the same symptoms.  I too have had endo since my teens and had a lap last July.  Since then, I've had recurring cysts on my left ovary.  At my last appointment in November, the dr. said it was very small and "shouldn't" be causing as much pain as it was.  It finally ruptured last Friday and I was in excrutiating pain.  There is a lot fluid around my intestine on the left side and I've had a dull ache in that area since then.  Also, my left ovary was really enlarged (which is scary).  He didn't seem concerned.

Long story short, I'm going for a second opinion with a surgeon this Friday.  I want to get my left ovary removed, I know that sounds drastic.  But I've had cysts non-stop for the past two years and they effect my quality of life on a daily basis.

ultrasound are not very accurate, when my mom was diagnosed with stage 3c ovarian cancer by CT and surgery, ultrasound said that there was nothing wrong, so I really, don't recommend it.

Have you asked for a CA125 blood test?  It may be something that they can track monthly and is not an expensive test.  With the endometriosis...you need to be watched carefully but my understanding other than an actual look-see surgery...a transvaginal ultrasound is the best they have.  Maybe repeat that in 6 to 8 weeks?  If it changes, then a CT or PET.

Just my thoughts.
Good luck
