Leslee

I went to the visitation today, what a lovely tribute to Leslee, there were hundreds of people came through in the 4 hours, walls of flowers, a table full of pictures of her life and  2 videos , with music  again about my lovely daughter.  I knew she was well liked, even loved, but I was astounded at the flow of people, relatives from all over and Canada, staff she worked with, the consumers  { adults with disabilities}. one man with Down Syndrome that really was one of Leslee's favorites, said, "they already made a movie with her",  there were wheel chairs and walkers, blind people, group homes people,  I saw tears, hugs, kisses, laughter, I heard sad stories about missing her, and heard stories about how much she meant to them.  One remark I heard was , "she leaves a space, that no one else can fill." The facility whare Leslee worked, is collecting money to make a memorial garden  with the flag stone terrace and walks, each stome will be dedicated by a family that she touched.  A fire pit and a picnic table are in the plans.  They want it to be a lovely place with Roses of all colors.  I copied out the posts from all of you, and put that on the table, with an explaination  of where it came from,  I heard many say, isn't it nice that women can support each other like this.  I was afraid to go today, but what I left with, was a great feeling of love.  The funeral is tomorrow, another challenge, but I feel like i have lots of support now.  Marty

I am so not surprised that there were so many people and so many wonderful tributes for Leslee.  Just from knowing how loving and supportive and wonderful you are, she was obviously just like you.
My love and prayers are with you Marty, and I will be specially thinking of you tomorrow.
A time to celebrate a beautiful life.

Peace...Kim

Marty,
Though we only knew LesLee through you, we do know how she was so loved by so many. After all, you are her mother! It is wonderful that so many care so much that they want to make such a beautiful tribute to her.
Though we could not be there foryou in person, I am sure that you know we are all there for you in spirit. I thank you for the lovely gesture from you that enabled us all to be there.
I know that tomorrow will be hard so know that we are all still there with you.
    Love Chris

Marty!  What a wonderful tribute to Les.  A difficult day, I'm sure.  Tomorrow will be equally difficult.  Let those around you hold you up.
