I cannot help you with the Femara but I can tell you about the tumor in her liver. My ov cancer had spread to my liver and after my main surgery, that was all that was visible. Chemo does help to shrink it and in some cases probably could even shrink it completely. In my case I had to have what is called a radiofrequency ablation. In other words they just melt the tumors. It is a simple procedure that only requires an overnight stay in the hospital. If your mom is real concerned and it will just not go away, this might be something you could check in to. For now it sounds like she is doing great. I hope it continues that way.

Hi,
I'm on a drug similar to Femara. If the cancer is estrogen receptive, Femara either starves or kills the estrogen so that cancer cells can't grow. I will be on Aromasin, in the Femara family, for the rest of my life, unless they come up with something better!
Check the internet for clinical trial updates; Aromasin is currently in clinical trials for ovarian cancer. Previously it was only used for breast cancer. It's known to cut estrogen production by up to 95%. I'm not waiting for the trials to conclude; I want to feel like I'm being proactive now.
Best of luck to your mom. It sounds like great news!
