Morrowville 6 weeks post op check up

Hi ladies!  For those of you who remember me, I saw my gyney yesterday 6 weeks post op.  I am fully released from the doctor's care and never have to have a pap smear again!  I am still not on HRT meds, have only experienced a bit of the emotional rollercoaster some women go through.  I had 1 hot flash, and that's pretty good for me!
I do want to get info on the need for HRT if I can, for things like osteoperosis & stuff, but maybe it was good & time for me to be having menopause anyway, and that's why I'm not on HRT.

I feel great, my 20" incision is healing very nicely, I CAN HAVE SEX!  lol

I wish you all big balloons of joy, peace and comfort, and thank each and everyone of the ladies who have touched my heart and helped me through this experience.

I will post when I can, and care deeply about all of you, and I hope to see you in August!

Donna

I am abit concerned about the HRT subject.  I've had so many mixed views on it.  My cousin works at a hospital and she told me that estrogen feeds cancer cells.  My mom was on estrogen for little over 5 years and the doctors are not denying that that may be a factor behind her ovarian cancer.  Everyone has different views but here in Canada there are not many doctors that give HRT.  Has anyone heard the risks behind HRT???

Did you go on any HRT?  I'm curious because my doctor's didn't put me on any, and you mentioned you had some hot flashes.  I wonder why some people go on HRT right away and some don't... my doctor only explained that we would "wait and see" if I felt any symptoms from medically induced menopause... and said if it was bad, I would go on HRT.

I don't have any real symptoms of menopause (that I guess I wasn't already having) and they may be key... I'm just wondering what your situation is.

If you read this, please let me know?

I am glad you are feeling so chipper.  It is good news and no more paps is a great benefit too.  I had an easy time with menopause and I felt very blessed.  3 months and I was done, but I have often wondered if I was lucky or if having cancer at the same time had anything to do with it?
That being able to have sex thing is nice to isn't it.  Doesn't it seem like FOREVER when the Dr tells you that you CAN'T have sex, but if you can but aren't it doesn't seem that long. LOL Enjoy your new found freedoms.
