Help!! only 18 and worried about cancer!

I have been worried lately about my health. I have had 3 periods within a month and a half, a pain in my left side of my stomach, i've been extrememly tired/fatigued, yet i can still stay up really late or i can sleep for 12+ hours and still feel like i didnt get an OUNCE of sleep, nausea after eating, irregular bleeding patterns when i menstruate and today when i went pee, i saw there was like a chunk of skin or tissue that came out. It had skin hanging off of it too, im scared. I get a papsmere on Aug 2, but I want to know if i should worry about anything serious? Could it be ovarian cancer? Please help, im really scared!

Just to make sure, or at least try to, ask for a internal sonogram and blood work, including the CA125. A pap smear will not detect ovarian cancer.   But, some insurance does not cover the CA125.  At least get the sonogram and/or a cat scan.
Good luck.  I know the worrying is just terrible.
You may just have some cysts or fibroids.

I think if you mention these things to the Dr doing your Papsmear-they will definitely do the follow-ups.  If they don't immediately say they are going to- you need to request it.  Make sure you keep track of all of this by writing it down.  Sometimes it's hard to remember it all once you are in the Dr.s office.  Good luck!

thanks so much, i'm so scared i will probably forget! but i feel bad because my mom is paying for all of it.. and i never signed up for insurance at work.. is this all going to build up horrendous fees? Not that it should matter.. but i do want to end up helping my mom and dad pay for it, even tho i have to pay for college.

thank you again!

You are so young, and if your parents are anything like I would be towards my daughter-no amount of money (or lack of) would keep me from finding out what is going on inside you.  Do you still live at home? if not you might be able to qualify (and you might -even if you live at home) for some type of medicaid or state aide.  If people with no isurance, who keep having children can get it-you sure should be able too!  check it out-callyour county's health department-they might be able to helpyou with that.

well, we decided to go to planned parenthood (my sister had volunteered there and had gotten her test work down and ended up having pre-cancerous cells in her cervix, but they soon ended up being non threatening). And they do papsmeres for free if you do donation. I'm going to ask them about how to pay for bloodowrk and sonograms (if i can get it for a lot less). My mom doesnt make alot of money, my dad does make quite a bit.. but still he has offered to help pay for my college tuition if I stay in it. I don't extra bills for him if theres nothing wrong with me. That's why I decided that I would get the blood work done to see if they might detect something with that and if not then I would worry about getting the sonogram later, if it does detect something then iw ould get the sonogram.my symptoms have become alot better... I havent had anything wrong with me going to the bathroom now, my crampin in my lower left of my stomach has gone...) but I still get indigestion alot, headaches, fatigue and now im getting sharp pains in my left lymph node. if that has anything to do with it.

I don't want you to get the wrong impression that my mom wouldnt let me get a sonogram. she would in a heart beat, but I told her that I would rather get blood work done and a papsmear done and if they come back normal, to forget about a sonogram. But if they come back with odd results, that I would like to get a sonogram. She completely understands.

Thank you so much for your help though, I'm feeling better knowing what i could be against and what i can get done! Thank you so much!

I HAD SOME SYMPTOMS LIKE THESE BEFORE, BUT I WAS PREGNANT, AND THEN HAD A MISSCARRIAGE.  ARE YOU SURE THAT YOU DIDN'T HAVE A MISCARRIAGE?  IF A CHUNCK OF SKIN OR SKIN LIKE STUFF CAME OUT, THEN MORE THAN LIKELY THAT IS WHAT IT SOUNDED LIKE..RESPOND BACK AND LET ME KNOW IF THIS IS WHAT IT IS OR NOT.  IF SO I AM TERRIBLY SORRY!

Ok I just had a recent papsmere and they also toook some blood work.  Now after my 2nd papsmere I am being called back after a month for a review of some sort. I am scared to death it could be something serious. What happens when you get a call back from your Doc's office after a papsmere appointment?

I had a pasmere about a week ago, and told me that I needed to go back there for the 2nd papsmere because as she put it, "we did not like the result".  Since I had breast cancer two years ago, I'm totally scared everytime any results come back "unusal".  I am waiting for their call as I write this message.  I would share my findings once they tell me.
