MRI Results

Friends, I had an MRI of my brain today because I was having trouble with headaches.  The unfortunate news is that it appears that I have metastatic disease in my brain.  I meet with the oncologist tomorrow.

I am quite devastated over this but have not lost my faith.  God is still in control.  I may be off the boards for a bit until we figure out what we are going to do.  Thank you all for your support and advice over the last several months.  You are a wonderful group of people.

Christa

All of your caring responses have humbled me, thank you so much.  Today I saw my gyn onc who showed me the MRI and there are 3 separate tumors in the cerebellum which would account for my vertigo and unsteady gait.  We see the neuro onc tomorrow to look at options.  The good news is that there is no recurrence in the abdomen or chest based on the CT scan.  All my bloodwork is normal, including the ca125.  It's extremely rare to see ovarian mets to the brain, so guess that means I'm the odd duck.  We'll see what happen.

God be with you on your decisions and the doctors who will be working with you... This is a tuff time for you but always remember that when we are at our weakest God is at His strongest. Be still and let God be God and watch the miracle He has for you.

i'm glad you have your faith, and hopefully a lot of local support.  there are still options out there.  we have a friend with breast cancer, who had it spread to her brain, lungs and a spot on her hip.  they've given her a new treatment and is doing amazingly well.  you just never know what new treatments are just around the bend... best wishes.

I remember reading in a post last week that you were having an MRI this week.  I am so sorry to hear this news.  But I have to believe you fought so bravely last time, so you can again this time.  I am happy to hear you are keeping your faith...that's the most important thing you can do right now.  The last time I did this, the thread was removed, but I am hoping it stays this time --  If you would like, please join us on the other site.  The address is http://groups.msn.com/BulgeBattlingBattalionCysters/welcome.msnw?&pps=k  You'll need to apply to join, and when you do, be sure to mention your name on this site so Mid/Dian will know who you are.  It may take a day or two, but they'll get you in there.  It would be a pleasure to talk to you over there, as well, since we are allowed to get a little more personal on that site.

I am praying for you, and definitely keeping you in my thoughts.  I'm not sure what we can do through a computer screen, but if there is, let us know.
