My mom had fluid in her uterus and a cyst on her ovary. She had ultra sounds done. The doc said he was more concerned about her uterus, but I was more concerned about her ovary. They did a d and c and all was ok. Now they do a ca and her level is mid to upper 40's. Why don't doctors move faster on this, and why didn't they just do surgery months ago instead of waiting? Surgery is now being scheduled.

they will go in with a laprascope and remove the ovary, do a frozen slide study to see if it is cancer, and if it is, a total hysterectomy will take place.

What kind of cyst does your mother have on her ovary? What is the size?
Personally, I would want more answers before consenting to surgery, and if cancer is at all suspected, please be certain that she is seen by a gyn/oncologist. They are the experts with 3 years additional training.
