That is terrible! I was reading your past post and that is a shame that your doctor didn't follow-up sooner. With your family history, that doesn't seem wise. I do think doctors dismiss this test and unreliable so much of the time. But, it really is a good indicator for those of us who get an increase with our tumors. I have recently gone from a 4 to a 13 and my doctor didn't seem concerned. But, now a couple of months later, I am having urinary urgency very much like I did when I was diagnosed. I think your post has sparked me to insist on another CA-125 just to be sure.
I am sorry to read your situation. I was lucky that my gynecologist wanted to do surgery right away after he found two cysts on my right ovary and my Ca-125 was elevated at 36 and I lost my mom to ovarian cancer when she was 62. It turned out to be a borderline endometrioid tumor.
I have come to know so many horror stories about women whose doctors did not take them seriously or didn't investigate an elevated reading etc. I was very lucky.
