Pain is worsening, what should I do?

Quick background.  Not diagnosed, waiting for lap surgery, 25 yr old, I have an enlarged right ovary and a paraovarian cyst on it about 5 cm.  My left fallopian tube is filled with fluid.  I just had an MRI and I am waiting for the results.  My issue is the pelvic pain is worsening.  I really dont want to bother my doctor, but I dont know what to do.  I also dont want to stay in the ER for 8 hrs tonight.  I am worried that whatever is going on in my body is worsening.  Is it possible for OVCA to progress this quickly or is it just the cyst making me sicker.  I would hate to be sitting home when I should really be in the hospital. Any ideas on what I should do.  All your thoughts and opinions are greatly appreciated.

If you are in lots of pain you need to go to the ER.  Cysts can and do burst (both benign and malignant).   Unfortunately, that will mean you will wait there for hours.   It is hard to advise you since I don't know how much pain you are feeling.  It is better to go if you are having much greater pain.  I know you don't want to bother your dr., but if I were you I would call him first and ask his recommendation.  If you go to the ER you are going to be starting out at square one all over again.  It is better to have a dr. send you there -especially since you have already had an MRI.

I had pain for 3 weeks and had a ct done at dr. that didn't show anything except maybe diverticulitis. I set up a colonoscopy for 2 weeks later. Two days before the appt I was at work and stood up from computer and had a terrible pain that took 5 minutes to ease back to the original level. I thought about it and headed for e.r. They admitted me to hospital and ended up doing lap. Have the e.r. contact your dr or whorver is on call for him and tell them you are in pain. I didn' t call family or anything I was in pain so I ubderstand and they will too.  best luck let us know. donna

I think you should call your doctor. That is what he is there for. I had severe pain and ended up in emergency last year. They can do an ultrasound and some blood work. I would not stay in so much pain.  If you call him maybe he can get you in emergency quicker. I ended up having 2 masses (benign) thank god! I had them removed along with a total hysterectomy last  year. I don't think you should be suffering in pain. Please  call your doctor. Good Luck! Gia :)
