Hi Helen... I'm pleased to hear that you've had some success with the Taxotere/Carbo. I've just finished another week llllooooonnnnggggg Topotecan, which I've had while taking the Femara. Boy, that is a debilitating combo, but I'm fine now. The Doxil worked good, but it took 4 treatments... and lots of mouth ulcers for me. Some other ladies went o.k. and no mouth sores. I guess we are all different in what works and what doesn't, so you can only try them. I met a man at the clinic one day, and he had Oxiplatin for bowel cancer, and he said he got terrible pins and needles in his hands and feet, particularly the feet from this one.....but it may not affect you like that.
Anyhow Helen.. I hope you get great news from whatever you decide on.....but the Taxotere/Carbo isn't bad is it? ;-)
Sending you lotsa hugs...Helen..
I know what you mean about staying on the present meds cause of how your body reacts to it...I too, dred the thought of having to change meds. I hope you get clearance frm your insurance and fast. Sending you positive energy...hang in there
Helen, good luck with getting insurance clearance, Doxil is approved for ovarian, but maybe not by your insurance company. In a perfect world they would discover the perfect drug tomorrow and we would all be cured.
Positive energy, lots of high fiber foods (according to latest research) and peace be with you.
Marie
