My update-new chemo soon

Hi everyone,
The Carbo/Taxotere showed a small decrease in counts this last month compared to the month before.

My CT scan showed lymph node growth but decrease in tumor. And some other stuff was not mentioned so maybe it disappeared.

So it helped somewhat and I sort of knew this was bound to happen by reading everyone else's posts. (decreases in this and increases in that)

So later today I am contuing with another Carbo/Taxotere #5 and probably next going to do Oxiplatin and 5FU or Oxiplatin and Doxil. She mentioned Topotecan but I am still hesitant on that. So we're in the works of covering these drugs with insurance since they are not approved for ovarian.

So I am nervous about starting something else and wish I could just continue the Carbo/Taxotere cause the side effects are minimal except for a lousy weekend which I try and sleep off.

Best of luck with everyone else's journey of survival,
Helen

Hi Helen... I'm pleased to hear that you've had some success with the Taxotere/Carbo. I've just finished another week llllooooonnnnggggg Topotecan, which I've had while taking the Femara. Boy, that is a debilitating combo, but I'm fine now. The Doxil worked good, but it took 4 treatments... and lots of mouth ulcers for me. Some other ladies went o.k. and no mouth sores. I guess we are all different in what works and what doesn't, so you can only try them. I met a man at the clinic one day, and he had Oxiplatin for bowel cancer, and he said he got terrible pins and needles in his hands and feet, particularly the feet from this one.....but it may not affect you like that.
Anyhow Helen.. I hope you get great news from whatever you decide on.....but the Taxotere/Carbo isn't bad is it?  ;-)
Sending you lotsa hugs...Helen..

Helen, good luck with getting insurance clearance, Doxil is approved for ovarian, but maybe not by your insurance company.  In a perfect world they would discover the perfect drug tomorrow and we would all be cured.
Positive energy, lots of high fiber foods (according to latest research) and peace be with you.
