Good luck and let us know.. Sandy
Thank you so much for your story. I am 45, premenopausal and not planning on having kids ~ obviously at this age. I also have an auto-immune disorder so I will see what my numbers are on my ca125.
I won't take chances with a cyst that only appears benign as a diag. lap is belly button surgery and not major surgery.
I appreciate you sharing your wonderful story with me! Terri
I had a small cyst dx . a few months ago. I had the CA125 and it was low. I'm post menopausal so the number (from what I've heard here is a little more accurate, but still not 100%). In any case, I was given the option of waiting and getting another TVUS and CA125 in a few months. I can only speak for myself, but I'm not the sort that "waits things out" well. My husband was with me and the Dr. said to him, "She's going to worry about this isn't she?"..My husband said "Sure Is".. so we just decided to remove it... Now, as I say, I'm post menopausal and that ovary isn't important to me one way or another, but you have to do what's comfortable for you. .. and only you can know what that is..by the way, the cyst was benign.. Good luck with whatever you decide. Take care,
Sandy
Did it growing or didn't change at all ? if it is getting bigger I will have it removed, if no change, maybe wait 3 more month and ca125 each month. The reason I say that is b/c i was dx with ovca 3C in 11/06. On 2/05 i had US showing 2cm cyst (i got this report after i was dx) without any follow ups. After 1 and 1/2 yr it is 3C. It is just my case and everyone is different. whatever decision u make I'll be100% supportive.
Peace

Surgery is always risky in itself although that one is fairly routine now. I would wait and see what the Dr says after your CA125 test. Are you pre or post menapausal? That might make a difference with the number. I wouldn't have surgery unless the Dr recommends it.
