Hi: I was diagnosed 2005 3rd stage.. Had chemo taxol/carboplatin, 2 rounds of radiation and now having chemo again. Last CAT scan is showing things are stable. Everyone reacts differently to chemo. It is a good idea to keep a diary. Keep positive and you will get through this. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
We've all certainly been there. I was diagnosed in October 2003 with Stage III OC and I'm still going strong. Even though I've relapsed, I've been very lucky in that it was caught extremely early and I responded well to treatment. On another forum, I actually came across several OC survivors. One was diagnosed with Stage III as well, relapsed 2x and has been clean for 14 years now!! I wouldn't worry about attaching statistics to survival rates. Just think positively about your response to treatment. My first cycles of chemo were then a clinical trial--now seems to be a standard treatment involving taxol/carboplatin. I found that by keeping a daily diary of how I felt after chemo and adjusting the drugs I was given to prevent side effects was a definite help.
Good luck!! My thoughts and prayers are with you.
