Ovariabn cancer

I am on third cycle of chemotherapy . Have had two sessions of caelyx. Three weeks ago I had 12 pints of fluid drained from my abdomen. Even morphine did not help me until I was taken to hospital.

Last three days I have had similar pain in my ribs, stomach and spine but without the swelling in my stomach. Am wondering if this is side effects from the chemo or something more sinister.

Having the asites fluid drained should have eased the pain. I think I am having the same type of pain right now as I start my 2nd round of treatment. It's not the same unbearable pain from the fluid I felt before my initial dx and surgery. They drained 6 liters from me during surgery.  This time I feel slightly bloated only, but have nagging pain under my left rib and lower right back ribcage. When I described these symptoms to my oncologist, he said they were more telling then the CT Scan as to what was going on with me. Report the location of pain specifically and give it a number for intensity 1 to 10, how bad. Only your doctor can dx, but I haven't read of "abnominal pain" as a side effect of treatment... just of the disease. We mustn't be concerned about "bothering our doctors" with valid concerns-it's their job and our right as patients, to do so.

Hi there
I sorry I haven't had any experience of Caelyx - called Doxil in the US?
I just wanted to say that my thoughts are with you and that I hope you get some respite from this horrible disease.
Can you speak to your oncol about the pain? Maybe they could have some advice for you.
Many hugs to you.
