VANative,
It seems a lot of us OvCa ladies have gallbladder issues. It's an interesting side note isn't it?

Ladies, Thanks for the posts, my Mom has had OvCa, Stage IV, since 2007. Ramsay14, your post did provide insight, as you mentioned a thick gall bladder, which was not from cancer. So, maybe the thickening my Mom has is not also. Your not a dope! My mom always says she has "chemo brain" for a few days after treatment!
Please disregard my above post. I didn't realize that the OvCa had spread to the gallbladder. My story does not apply. I'm a dope and need to read more carefully. I did have chemo today so that will go down as my excuse.
I was diagnosed with chronic cholecystitis (gallbladder disease) after my OvCa stage 3c diagnosis. I had chronic cholecystitis before the cancer diagnosis but it wasn't conclusively diagnosed until after my debulking and chemotherapy. I went for a HIDA scan which revealed a thick leathery gallbladder with an ejection of 12%. The GI doc recommended it to be removed because it was 1. causing pain 2. not really working and 3. should get it out before it causes a bigger problem. I went to an oncologic surgeon and he said that he would be happy to remove my gallbladder if and when my gyn/onc goes back in for a gynecological related matter.
Just want you to know that OVCA final dx is from biopsy. i don't think is it very sientific dx just by US. Please don't assume anything until then.
Peace and Love

OK, I just saw the post by Tybear on May 14th, I should have searched first!! Mom has no symptoms, no stones, but definitely polyps and thickening. I'm hoping they can just remove it! Janice
