Ovarian Cyst

Does anyone know if a 4cm ovarian cyst can cause stomach bloating (upper and lower)? Can a cyst be cancerous?

You still have tonsils?
Let's see - took my tonsils out at 21
Wisdom teeth at - hmmm, 20??

3 C-sections   1991   1992   1996  (removal of three beautiful babies!)
1 hysterectomy that took all but that one ovary -   2006

removal of the last ovary - Feb 5, 2008

Nothing else, hope this is it!

This will be my first body part to go. I have everything, even my wisdom teeth. Seems they aren't doing me much good, huh? My date is the 21st of Feb. I am menopausal though so I won't have any sudden hormonal changes. Gotta be thankful for something.

Imagine how whipped we are - we just hate to complain and sound like babies!
I thought about the fiber maybe being a problem too!!   I blamed gas - constipation - bloating - muscle pull - getting old in general -   ANYTHING but something is wrong.

I wouldn't have gone to the doctor if one of the small ones didn't burst and cause a UTI.

After the UTI started, I was peeing razors - had to go.  :~)

I'm going in on Feb. 5 -  what date is yours?

Do you have your other parts still?  This will be the last thing down there - will be completely empty!!

Funny how we ignore the subtle things. I figured my bloating and aches in the left side were because I wasn't getting enough fiber in my diet. You know, old lady thinking about her morning BM's all the time LOL. I never thought about having it checked, just bought more Metamucil and high fiber cereal. Even when I did go to the doctor, I was thinking heart and bloating. She picked up on it right away and sent me for the TVUS. Yuck. Women are like the Energizer Bunny, just keep on going.

Babe - yes, they did find a 7cm cyst on my left ovary. It's going bye-bye next month.

Ireneo is right, most are benign - and I think it is higher than 90% as well.

Bloating, uncomfortable pressure that you can't really pin-point.
Dull ache.

I didn't even realize that I had a cyst - as I am overweight - and was ignoring the dull ache.  I knew my work pants were getting tight, but I wasn't gaining weight. Actually, lost 8 pounds.   Still I am not bright enough to go to the doctor.
Always had an excuse - Oh, they said after the hysterectomy, my mid section would spread.    -  Or, Oh, the dull ache is probably a muscle pull -

Mine is 12cm - and coming out.  The ovary is all I had left.   And I am 48 - close enough to menopause to not be all upset about it.
They left in in to stop me from going into medical menopause.  The hysterectomy was June 2006.
Lasted a little while!

Good luck, keep an eye on it.    Keep us posted!

From what I've read - yes and yes. But over 90% (it's higher than that, can't think of the exact number) of cysts are benign. Has the doctor got a plan for you yet? Probably wait and watch. That's typical for cysts under 5 cm.
