PLS DON'T IGNORE UR SYMPTOMS, ONLY U KNOW UR BODY.  TO BE MORE REASSURED YOU SHOULD ASK FOR A CA-125 BLOOD TEST OR A B7 BLOOD TEST.  THE CA-125 IS A TUMOR MARKER FOR OVARIAN CANCER AND UR RESULTS SHOULD BE UNDER 35.  I HAVE A DERMOID TUNOR ON MY LEFT OVARY AND THE FIRST THING THEY DID WAS A CA-125 AND IT CAME BACK AT 10 SO NOW IT'S A WAITING GAME.

Hi All. Just to let you all know, 99% of cysts are bening, ovca is a rare disease. Please don't take this as a sign to ignore your symptoms, but try not to worry as much. Cysts can get rather large and still not be cancer. And, no matter what any doc says, cysts can cause pain. I'll be thinking of you all, and keep in touch. With love, Deandra

Does anyone know if there is a relation between cyst and ovarian cancer, same symptoms ect..? I have had cyst in past although the last six months I am experiencing abdominal pain the whole right side where the cyst is. I am worried. We recheck with sonogram next month.

My fiance is having extreme pain during her mensturations. She got it checked four months back and she was said that she has follicular cyst in her right ovary. She was advised to take contraceptive pills for three months and then have the sonogram again during her three month course the pain went away considerably. Her new sonogram suggests that the cyst has grown instead of decreasing. The doctor advised her to see for another month without any medication and see if the pain persists.

Does any of you have any suggestions on this?

Most of these cysts are physiologically normal.  They come and go every month with ovulation.  I would just go back in 6 to 8 weeks and have it checked again.  CHances are it will be gone.

Well my cyst is around 6cm and maybe tomorrow when I get my resulst of my sonogram it will be bigger. I had cysts since I was 18 but no surgery. At the begining the doc said it was just a folicular cyst (ovulation type of cyst) and gave me birth control pills and it worked for a period of time. Now I am 27 and the doc is kind of worry with my cyst because it's getting bigger and it kind of ruptures every months and then fills back, just like if it was a folicular cyst but it's getting bigger. Cysts are very common, not that it makes it ok, but at least is not a rare disease. What type of cyst do you have? are you on pain? I hope this can help you to calm down a little.
