Have you ever had a otherwise normal healthy patient presenting with ovarian or other gynecologic cancer symptoms that ended up to have an unknown gluten intolerance or other intestinal problem instead? I am postmenopausal (no abnormal bleeding) and have had constant abdominal bloating, pressure and feeling full fast, lower back ache, pelvic cramping, and urinate every 2 hours, esp. at night.
These symptoms came on suddenly May 2007 and continue to be bothersome 24/7. I have had 3 TV ultrasounds, 1 abdominal ultrasound and a pelvic CT scann and an endometrial biopsy....results: ovarys unremarkable..no fluid or cysts showing--only mini cervical polyp, small fibroids(biggest 1 inch) --fatty liver--mild diverticulosis
I have seem my primary care, a gastroenterologist and 2 gynecologists, and no one can figure this out, everyone saying that the small fibroids shouldn't cause this much discomfort. I just had a CA-125 blood test (no result yet) and scheduled to go back to see the gastro next week and back for another pelvic ultrasound in Boston next month.
The gastroenterologist doesn't think this is intestinal, yet both gyns don't think this is gyn related. One gyn said that laparoscopy would be out of the question and too risky with all the negative test results and plus being overweight(214lbs and 5'8)
All that I read about is that any of the pelvic cancer problems can go undetected, so hence being a worry-wart
Any thoughts on this would be really appreciated. thank you so very much
