Ovarian found in Uterus?

My left ovary had malignancy and lapratomy was performed this Monday. Traces from all over were sent for biopsy but the  washes came out clean, tubes were clean, right ovary was also healthy ... only the uterus seems infected. How can my cancer travel to the uterus without passing through the tubes? Is it ovarian cancer or uterine? I am scheduled for a hysterectomy next week and my doctor says only the second biopsy would tell. Anyone else who has seen this before? I really want to keep my system - I am 30.

Would the histopath reports be able to tell the difference? I am praying the two are unrelated.

I also had both ovarian and uterine cancers.  Mine were also unrelated.  I was thrilled that I had a hysterectomy that got rid of both with one surgery.
Best of luck to you!

I had both ovarian and uterine cancer. The doctors said the two cancers were unrelated. Just lucky, I guess.

You need to ask your Oncologist what type cancer you have. We have no way of knowing. You should fill out your Profile for future reference on other MedHelp patron's part.
