Need an opinion, reassurance

I'll start with my symptoms. They 1st started mildly in June,  with dizziness/nausea mid-cycle. Then in Sept/Oct., I noticed a change in bowel habits. I was continually constipated (despite a high fiber diet and drinking at minimum 40-60 oz of water a day - 1-2 cups of coffee only caffeine I have). Then, Oct./Nov. such severe fatigue, would just melt into the couch when coming in from work at 3 p.m. Taking care of the kids, dinner, the house etc. seemed like such a chore. I needed a nap to continue my evening, and was ready to crash (falling asleep during TV) by 8 p.m. Would take 1-2 hour naps on the weekend, but never refreshed. Also, a constant clear/milkish discharge. Not at all, lumpy or thick, in fact very thin and "wet". Constantly felt like I'd wet my pants.  Dec., brought on continued symptoms from previous months but now with such intense lower right quadrant pelvic pain (mid-cycle), that 800 mg motrin just lessened it, and I had to walk hunched over. Cleared with 24 hours. Jan. same as previous and again intense lower quadrant pelvic pain that I missed a day of work on 2 seperate occasions and a 10 day delay in my cycle. Saw new OBGYN. Treated for yeast, treated for bacterial. Returned to him following treatment and missing work due to pain. Sent for Transvaginal US. Showed a slightly enlarged right ovary with what looked like a small functional cyst(2cm). Told to repeat in 6 weeks. Now, I'm severly frustrated. Since Christmas, I've gained 15 pounds, my tummy looks 3-4 months PG, my clothes are tight, and FEB/March added abdominal fullness and sever indigestion (reflux type feelings) that are always present any time I eat or drink something (even water). I'm extremely gassy at times as well. Got a second opinion, was sent for MRI to rule out adnomyosis (sp?). MRI showed enlarged uteris, small uterine fibroid and a right ovary with multiple follicles. Now, 1st U/S did not show fibroid (although I know it's been there for 2+ years, from 2 failed IVF treatments - not grown and has never caused symptoms), and MRI said what was ovarian cyst before is now follicles??  Dr. was at a loss. He said fibroid was not significant enough for symptoms. Wanted me to see a GI for possible irritable bowel syndrome. It is not my bowels or stomach or gas pains. It is my uteris/ovary. I've seen the films, there is more than one cyst on the right ovary. I continue to have constant pelvic pain (although severity fluxuates). My uteris continually feels like I'm early PG (definitely not) and it has a "foreign" object that it is trying to accomodate.  Thinking of getting a 3rd opinion and being more pushy.  BTW I'm 35, premenopausal, 2 kids, and a history of infertility drugs/treatments.

Hello,

Reading over your post, it was almost like dejavu. I had all the same symptoms as you have experienced. I agree with the previous two ladies. Continue to search for a doctor who listens and takes your symptoms seiously! As I look back, alot of my symptoms, that I complained about over the years were written off as stress, depression, menopause, etc.... Both my doctor and I became very good at looking for excuses instead of suloutions. I really didn't get the help I needed until I ended up in ER and had to stay in the hospital over Christmas '07. I was severely dehydrated (couldn't keep a thing down) and my electrolytes were all "out of wack". (They couldn't believe I could walk in to the ER). To make a long story short....They found a tumor by my rt ovary. Two months later, when I was strong enough, my gyn/onc operated on me and removed the BENIGN tumor and all my "girlie parts".  One month post-op, and I feel better than I have in two years!!!!!!!! Moral of the story: Your symptoms are real!!!! Find a doctor who will compassionately listen to you a work towards a resolution of your problem. You should NOT have to suffer!!!!!!!!     Good Luck, to you!!!!!!!

Hugs,
Shari

Kim is sure right. As women our bodies can create all kinds of symptoms that mimic all kinds of things. I do know even a small  cyst can cause severe pain. Do what she says. Keep investigating and don't doubt yourself. You know what you are feeling. I wish you answers and a cure soon. Marie

Hi there,
I always say if you are not satisfied with what the doctor says, then find another one until you are.
I too have symptoms similar to yours, have been backwards and forwards to Doctor and have found out i have a u/s with 5cm cyst on right ovary.  Been referred to ObGYn and am now waiting to go for an MRI to check it out.  it is scary reading about ovarian cancer on this forum, but also reassuring to get support from everyone here.
I am new to this forum as well, but from what the other ladies (who are extremely well informed) have said, is that cysts can cause all of these symptoms.
My doctor has also made a suggestion of IBS and having upper GI investigations as well.  The problem is that so many things can mimic symptoms i.e. ibs, pelvic inflammatory, even menopause.  My advice is just to keep on investigating and get as well informed as you can.
Good luck and let us know what happens
Cheers
Kim
