Hello... I've just started Doxil too... first treatment 2 weeks ago. I had this 2 years ago and it worked really well for me, but my Oncol. took me off it after only 4 treatments because of the side affect. I only had the one side affect and that was large and very sore mouth ulcers. I wasn't told at the time that to suck ice while the infusion was being administered would help, but this time I have done that. I have one ulcer under my tongue, which is not very big, this time, so sucking on the ice could be helpful. With Doxil, don't have hot showers or wear tight clothing or drink hot drinks or eat hot food. Some ladies get the sore hands and feet, but I didn't get that....only the mouth ulcers.
This drug was still working for me for 3 months after I'd finished the last treatment. I hope it works well for your too. Let's know how you are doing. Best wishes..hugs..Helen...
I hope the Doxil is the one that gets you a long remission. Be sure they give ice packs for hand and feet during chemo. (somehow I got the red burning hands from my chemo and i haven't had doxil. (My dr. asked me what I had been doing. when I showed her.) Donna
I hope it works for you, too. I wish you the best. Marie
