Ovary removal

One ovary removed this week.  Hot flashes have started within five days post-op. 50 years old. Was on patch already, but this is still not preventing the flashes.  Anyone else need to adjust hormone replacement after the removal of one ovary?

oh how lovely your home sounds, just peaked at your profile, Iowa!  I live next to a canal with narrowboats and swans on it in cheshire England, not as exciting as where you are!!

I would suggest you check out "bio-identical" hormones rather than use the ones produced by big pharma.  I can't prove it, but I believe my being on hrt caused me to develop ovarian cancer....I know they at least contributed to the cancer.  If I had known I was ingesting a pregnant mare's urine I would have refused to take it.  Just check it out....bio-identical hormones are made from prure things in nature....they don't have to be toxic.  Just be careful.
Peace.

I had my left ovary removed due to dermoid cysts on it on Dec 6. So far, no hot flashes and no HRT0----yet. I have not had menopause yet. But noticed my emotions all over the place the last 3 weeks. Let me know how you fare.
