Why was this brought up? This thread is three years old. pwhome, what is your concern here? Is your CA125 336 or 811 or is this for someone else? At those levels you would already have had some kind of surgery so what is the situation?
I'd venture to ask why your not already in treatment with a level at 336?
if your count went from 336 to 811 in two weeks the chances of non malignet are????????
There is some variation in the testing/reporting methods, but reports tend to fit into two categories. One system uses numbers basically as follows: up to 35 - "normal", 36 to 99 - "high normal" (indicative of necessary follow-up) and 100 or over - "high, indicative of possible malignancy".
Another test system sets the normal level at 24.
However, the CA-125 can give false positives as many other conditions can raise this level. Alsom some cancers do not produce that specific antigen, so the test will provide false negatives in those cases.
