Please read, gassy, bloated, hard to breathe!!!!

hi, im 21 years old, and i have been experiecing some symptoms that gradually recently just gotten worse.  for the past 18 months (since the birth of my first child) I have been really gassy, and feel bloated.  i dont think my stomach is swollen(although i have never re-zoomed to my orginal size after my pregnancy)...  I get sooo bloated it feels as if i get short of breathe and cant catch a full breath. recently i have not been able to hardly eat anything.  just a few bites or a few sips of a drink make me full, i feel like there is something in my chest (pressure) pushing on my lungs or diaphrgm... in which i get hiccups, and start weezing and gasping for air at times  I do not have insurance, so im stuck to one doc, that i quit seeing, since, cause i wasent getting anywhere.  he told me this was IBS from my anxiety.  which i discovered that it is not IBS.  it is very hard to talk anyone, cause they all tell me this is anxiety related. and I KNOW it isnt, i know how my anxiety is and works, actually when i get to where it is hard for me to breathe THAT is were anxiety sets in and causes me to panic...... immm sooooooo worried and scared, and dont know what is going on in my body.  i have muscle spasms, below my rib cages clear through my back and shoulder blades(could this be gas??).... my legs are crapping alot lately.  And I  have lost 10 pounds over the past 3 months(and wasent trying), this was before it got really hard for me to eat.... anyone have any suggestions and ideas??????  I would greatly appreciate any

The test we are recommending are not bad at all. Yes you may have to skip a meal an dpossibly drink something as prep, but it is well worth it if it will determine the cause of your discomfort and possibly hopefully rule out something serious like OC (ovarian cancer).

Just relax and tell yourself you need to do this! As far as talking to the doctor, remember they are people too and put there pants on the same way you do! Also, they are there to serve you, not the other way around. Just because they have a medical degree doesn't make them gods.

You need to be calm and assertive when you say, that you have these symptoms and you want them to detemine the cause, not just surmize that it is IBS or anxiety. Tell them you want them to rule out something more serious and that the least invasive test is an abdominal/pelvic CT.

Remember you are responsible for your own health, the doctors are not!

Good luck.

PS - gas can make your stomach twitch and jump. I thought I had an alien inside me from gas pains and bloat!

I, too, had lots of gas but no bloating in stomach and chronic diahrea and shortness of breath, all symptoms of my body having OC.  Ask to see an OGBYN and have CT scan, pelvic exam, ultrasound and ask for xray to be done on your lungs. When you get the xray tell the doctor that you think you might have fluid in your lung, usually the standard pose is not use in this case as liquid tends to shift around.  Good luck

To me your symptoms seem too intense to be "all in your head".
You need to either press your doctor to do some real tests or refer you to a gastroenterologist (sp?)to do some real tests (upper GI, endoscopy, abdominal/pelvic CT) to see if there is a cause. (You will have to demand he does some tests and not back down!)
If you don't feel your doctor will cooperate , then it may be best to go to the ER.
If you go to the ER do not "play down" your symptoms., put up a fuss and make sure they know how much discomfort you are in. Ask for an abdominal CT.

You shouldn't have to be this uncomfortable. It is not normal..
Good luck.
