Post Op drainage

I had my ovaries removed last Wed and Endo cleaned around my colon/rectum.  I came home Fri pm and I hace what seems like a  lot of drainage from my incision.  I have had this before.  2 yrs ago I had a partial Hyst and had wound separation for 12 weeks.  I am concerned this may happen again.  I am calling tomorrow and I hope to have the path results this week too.  My Gyno seems to think I am fine and he does not suspect cancer.
Has anyone had drainage issues post op?  Thanks!

Justscore,

I had the same surgery 6 months ago and mine still has mild drainage. This is normal, just make sure to keep a clean bandage on it and keep an eye on it. If it becomes a different color, then go get it checked for infection. Or if around the insicion become red, go get it checked also. Because I had a mild infection, but my drainage was a yellow- green (i know gross). But, RELAX, let yourself heal and everything will be OK. But, be sure to keep it clean and free of harmful bacteria.

It was abdominal.  I have a 8 inch incision.  No Lap because of Endo on other parts such as my abdominal wall, colon etc.

That is called serous drainage and it is fairly normal for it to continue for  a while after the type of surgery you had.  Was this a lap or a scope?

I am not diabetic.
The drainage is pink, reddish and a bit orange in color.  I have read that this could be considered normal but I am still a bit concerned........

Are you by any chance a diabetic?  Their incisions heal slower.
