Post surgery recovery

I had a laparoscopy done about a week ago. I had a dermoid cyst removed from my left ovary and my question is, I'm still feeling the same kind of pain I was before surgery. Is that normal? my doctor says it is but I don't get it. My incisions don't hurt anymore, why would my ovary still hurt?  The results of my biopsy are stil not in, but the doctor said it did not look malign.
I also have an iud and I asked the doctor if this could be the cause of the pain. He says no. Any clues???

Yes, as a matter of fact today I felt bloated and felt a lot pf pain, so I wound up having to take this stupid painkiller that makes me nauseous.

Hi!
Yes, I had surgery two weeks ago with laproscopy and I still have some lower abdomen pain also.  My ovaries had grown together and connected with my bowels and other organs.  The gyn says the pain is the result of having to move around the other organs to disconnect the ovaries.  He told me yesterday that it will take awhile for the pain to completely to go away also because of the stitches inside the abdomen.  So you will probably improve in time as well.  Take care.  Think positive!

The cyst was attached to the ovary, and possibly to other sites around it.  Removing it leaves a "wound."    The tissues disturbed during the surgery must heal before the pain will completely leave.  I had an endometrioma removed, along with the ovary, last December.  For nearly two months afterward, I had pains come and go from that area, and even now if I engage in strenuous activity then I still have mild 'muscular cramps' in the areas around my incisions.

I'm 28, so the changes of it being cancer are very small. My symptoms were pain and constant bleeding. Light spotting, but everyday, specially when the pain gets worse. The ultrasound showed a complex cyst. The laparoscopy is really another diagnostic tool. Sort of like, the doctor knew he was removing it, but he had to see what he was dealing with first...just medical procedure. Good luck with your mom.

Hi, have been thinking of you for tomorrow - please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you and please post so that I know the outcome.  By this time tomorrow, all will be over with and at least you'll know where you stand.  I truly believe that the fear of not knowing is worse than knowing.   Good luck!

Hi there, I don't really know the answer to your question but I do have a question if you wouldn't mind answering. My mom is going in tommorrow for a hysterectomy to remove a suspicious mass off her ovary. I was just wondering how old you are and if your mass was thought to be suspicious before the surgery? Did they know it was a dermoid before the surgery and what were your symptoms? Thanks so much for answering and I'm happy everything turned out fine for you.
