Can you have Olvarian Cancer with out a major change in my periods?

I have a swollen abdomen, back ache, constipation, lots of discharge and sometime foul smelling discharge.  Only in the last period I had was there a longer blood tinged discharge and then the swelling and pain started.  I had a sonogram today and I have to wait for the results.  The tech said that the left ovary was a little higher up and spent more time on that side but said not to waste my weekend on worrying.  My urinalysis was normal.  All my normal blood work has been normal. I have not lost any sudden weight and infact have not been able to loose weight while on a diet...just inches.  Of couse I am worried about any major illness.....can you help?

Hi,
Some women don,t have a change in their menstrual cycle with ovarian cancer and some do , we are all different . Its good that you ,ve had a sonogram already and your blood work is normal. Is there a possibility that you may have an infection ? has your doctor taken any swabs to check ? . Its hard but really try not to worry too much because ovarian cancer is rare especially before the menopause . Could you phone your doctors office early to see if your results are in ?. Let us know how you get on .

Best wishes Angie

If you had a serious infection ,your white counts would be elevated. There would be evidence in the urinalysis of any urinary problems, constipation can cause  the bloating and the back pain,  you might want to have a good pelvic done to check for any abnormaility of the uterus.  You might want to try and take care of the constipation, my daughter uses Mirolax with good results now.

By the way, I did get a urine test result that said normal and I did do a pelvic with sonogram and I am waiting for results from that.  Thanks
