Question for all of you

I thank god that we have this web site! But most of all all you nice ladies that help all of us that have questions. I do have another question. I want to know if you have a pelvic ultra sound or transvagional sound if there is a right time of the month to do it. The last time I had a period was December 8. Skiped January waiting for this month. I had a friend of mine who is a OBGYN MD look at all my reports Ct scans etc. I had had the 6.5 cm complex cyst in November then on Dec 5 showed not there. On december 7 ct scan showed 3.5. Then on December 20 transvagional showed not there and ultra sound showed not there. I do have a small fibroid. The doctor who is looking at it wants me to go to another lab. My question is if you are getting ready to start a period or finished one will it effect what they can see when they are doing the tests. I just want to make sure I am doing this at the right time if there is one. I do feel better then I did in Novemeber and December but I still do not feel right sometimes. I dont know. I am 50 years old i have one ovary and one fall. tube. My mother has stage 3 ovarian cancer. I am not saying that I have cancer.I just have questions should I get the other overy and fall tube  out. Would I do a full hysterectomy? I qam just clueless. My mother lives out of state I dont talk to her about this. I dont want to worry her about what I am feeling.I hope that all you wonderful ladies can help me. Thank you so much

Hey 2 bears,
Although I agree with Twit, I wonder where you are at with menopause, pre, post or peri (I am 49 and peri).  Keep in mind that the various imaging techniques are not without false results.  If you choose to have the next, that should be the last.  So are you seeing a GYN or a Generalist?  MV

I just had a ultrasound and my Doctor said the best time to do one is a week after your period. That is when the endometrial stripe is supposed to be the thinest so it is easier to see stuff.

Hi

The ultra sound done in November and the Cat scan that was done in December said that it was a complex cyst. can complex cysts rupture? I had no pain that would tell me that they did? thank you

Cysts that disappear are usually follicle cysts caused during ovulation.

If the doctor is suggesting another lab, why not have another look.  Can't hurt....there is a reason that he isn't trusting the lab.

Let us know how the next test goes.
