Remembering our Christmas angels

Not to throw a wet blanket on things but I can't help but remember all the warrior women that have become our angels this year. Here's to the sweet memories we carry and prayers for the families and friends that are celebrating the holidays with one empty chair at the table. All my love to you.

Thanks for the list, Heidi.

Becky and Deandra are never far from my thoughts... and, Jan. Boy, Jan's name pops into my head at the most interesting times. It's like she's telling me to remember to stand up for myself... take care of myself... you know. If you knew Jan, you know what I mean.

I'm going to add a few more names: Terrin2 (Amy), Sharon, Judy.

Mary (Ravenlady) lived just a few miles from me in Minnesota. Her brother is still doing weather reports on the radio (A job he's had for over 30 years, I'm guessing) and I just heard his voice when he came on the radio to report the conditions in the city during our big snow storm last week. Talk about memories. I can never hear his voice without thinking of Mary.

Mary came on board when MedHelp was young and so if you had any issues at all regarding the ovary, you came to the Ovarian Cancer forum. She'd had problems with cysts and was so helpful and supportive to others who suffered from cysts... and of course she became friends with those suffering from Ovarian Cancer. She and Tascha started the first "Cyber Party" in the winter (about 2004).

Mary died of Brain cancer (Dian, correct me if I have that wrong...). I still cannot believe she's gone.

Take care everyone....

Mary

Yes, I try to add names as soon as word comes out that someone has lost the battle. There are several names added since the last forum get-together. I hope we keep them all in our hearts and minds.

Of course!

By the way, is anyone still adding names to the list? I haven't checked it in awhile.

We should also remember Chris (crecco) who started the annual get-togethers, a tradition I hope will continue.

Oh yes, of course. I didn't "speak" with her much but I knew her name well. I happen to adore crows and ravens and her name always caught my attention. I think we would have gotten along well.  :-)  I'm sorry to hear about her family hurting so much but it takes such a long time to adjust to that emptiness.

Raven Lady, Mary, is also lost to this world.  I know her family grieves still.
Peace and good health to all.

Thank you for listing their names. I can't keep track of the dates but I'll never forget the women.

Irene, you are so thoughtful to post this.  I too find myself thinking of our angels.  It makes me sad that they will not be with their families, but I know that they are going to have the best Christmas ever celebrating with Jesus.  It makes me feel good knowing that they are looking over us.  May their families find peace and love this holiday season.  Love to you all.

Tonight is the longest night of the year.  Many churches are having Longest Night or Blue Christmas services to help those who are grieving or have had depressing things occur during the year.  Hope you find one if you need one.  Peace to all.

Amen, Irene.  Such a joyful season, yet there are several heavy hearts out there.  May they find their joy and peace in the cherished memories of holidays past even though they miss their loved ones more than words can express.
