Result of my Lower Abdomen and Appendix

Hi, I am not sure if I am posting the right topic here. But here is my result of my ultrasound taken last March 28, 2008. Hope you can help to analyze it, since I don't have money to go to the doctor. Please help.

REPORTS

Measurements:
Right Kidney: 11.54 x 3.76 x 6.32 cm (LWH)
Left Kidney: 10.07 x 3.11 x 4.79 cm (LWH)
Cortical thickness: Right kidney: 1.02 cm
                            Left kidney: 1.34 cm
Uterus: 7.7 x 4.69 x 4.59 cm/anteverted
Right ovary: 3.67 x 3.63 cm
Left ovary: 2.76 x 2.63 cm

Both kidneys are within normal limits in size, shape and orientation. Parenchymal echogenicity is hypoechoic relative to the liver and spleen. Parenchymal sinus demarcation is well defined. Cortico-medullary junctions are not prominent. No definite calculi or ectasia noted. Cortical mantles are free of abnormal solid masses or focal cystic lesions.

Both ureters are non ectatic

The uterus is within normal limits size. No discrepany in thickness or echopattern between the anterior and posterior walls. No abnormal solid masses or cystic lesions within the uterine corpus.

The endometrial stripe is not well delineated.

The ovaries are physiologic in appearance. There is a 5.32 x 5.42 x 5.34 cm hypoechoic thin walled ficus with internal medium level echoes directly superior to the uterus and lateral to the uterine fundus.

The urinary bladder is distended. It walls are smooth and homogenously echogenic. No abnormal intraluminal echoes.

There is incidental note of mild fatty liver.

CONCLUSION
Structurally unremarkable kidneys.
Essentially normal urinary bladder and ureters.
Normal uterus and left ovary.
Consider endometrioma versus exophytic hemorrhagic cyst of the right ovary. TVS correlation suggested for further evaluation.
Incidental note of mild fatty liver

Yes, also not a doctor, and I agree with silver&gold.  Mainly the ovarian
cyst or whatever is what most likely may need followup.  2.54 cm equals 1 inch, so we are talking about 2 x 2 x 2 iinches in size.
The transvaginal ultrasound is a wand that goes in your vagina.  Mine was done by a Dr. Pleasure (really, OK ladies laugh at me).   Anyway, it is an easy procedure.

Keep an eye on any cyst in that area, I would think, maybe another
tvg ultrasound in a few months OR see if the docs want to remove whatever this is.  It is pretty small, so don't worry.  But do keep an eye on it.  You will be fine.

Hi,
Im not a doctor but from what I see the report says that all is normal apart from a mild fatty liver ( I don,t know how significant that could be) and  a complex cyst on your right ovary . The suggestion is that you should have a trans vaginal ultrasound to assess the cyst and that is quite usual with this type of cyst .
Hope this helps .

Best wishes Angie
