STIII Vaginal cancer

I was dx with st III vaginal adenocarcinoma in Nov 06. I recieved 39 external beam radiation tx with the last 11 being high beam and had 4 0f 6 cisplatin tx until my kidneys started failing and now have stIII kidney disease, I have PET scan q 3 mo. last one showing a 17cm area near vaginal cuff unable to visualize to biopsy. Had increase in what i thought was rectal bleeding, pelvic pain and dermal cyst on gluteal cleft that hurt when sitting. I went to the md to have cyst removed and he immediately bx it and it came back cancer- my vaginal cancer has recurred. What can I expect in treatment and are there any cancer centers that specialize in this. I see my gyn/ onc tomorrow and would like to have some feedback before i go.

You and I spoke today.  If you were unable to post this in the expert forum, you can try tomorrow.  They only take a certain # of questions / day. I had to try a few times to post my first question.  I want you to know that you are in my thoughts and prayers.  I hope you find just the help you need.

To all:  If anyone knows of an expert in the field of gyne cancers in the mid west, preferably, please respond with any helpful experience. We are looking for a good doctor for a second opinion and a fresh look at this case.  This is someone I know.  I would be very thankful to anyone willing to help this person. Marie
