Scared and unsure

Can a person have or can ovarian cancer be present without having a mass/cyst/tumor being present on the ovaries during ultrasounds?

You can get a type of ovca called PPC ( primary pertonel cancer) if your ovaries have been removed. If you still have your ovaries, then this of course doesn't apply to you. Many of us have been mis diagnosed with this disease which is why most of use have late stage disease.  I would have a second opinion or a third if needed.  You have many sx. of ovca, but it could also be the  endo.  Ask for a laproscopy.. to rule out the endo....pain is never normal especially if it is bad pain.  Good luck...~~Joanne

Hi, thank you for your answer. I'm sorry to hear about your cancer.

I was diagnosed with endometriosis last year when I had a laparoscopy and have had a number of bilateral ovarian cysts for the past 10 years (even get them on the pill, which is supposed to make them go away).

I had a ct scan earlier this year and in april had a abdominal and transvaginal ultrasound done, that didn't show any cysts. My gyn and primary care doctor said that since I only had stage 2 endometriosis at the time of my laparoscopy and my gyn burned it all off, he didn't think that the severe lower left pelvic pain I am experiencing could be the endo that has come back, so have sent me to a gastroenterologist as well saying that it's not gynaecological related and it might be GI related. I am having a colonoscopy done on 25/7 to see what comes up, but have a few symptoms (pelvic pain and cramping like period type pain, frequent urination, pain with intercourse, loss of appetite and feeling full quickly) doesn't quite fit with GI related problems, although I guess I can't know for sure as I'm no doctor.

Thank you, guess will just have to wait for the colonoscopy and see what happens from there.

Best wishes to you too. (Hugs)

I had 2 tvus, two ct scans that did not show cancer. I was in the hospital in severe pain. My gyn left me with my gastroenterologist and said it was not female related pain. After the gastro could not find anything he ordered a laproscopy that found my cancer. I was referred to gyn//onc and stage 3c. This may be unusual, but it was my personal experience. Hope you do not have cancer. Best wishes.
