Scared, does this sound like OVCA?

I am 42 years old, 2 children 13 and 10.  No family history of OVCA.

My symptoms started in March at onset of menstrual period with fever 101 -102, fatigue and extreme diarrhea that lasted 3 days.  I thought it was the stomach flu, diarrhea cleared but I continued to have loose stools and gas from that day on.  About three weeks later I had severe tailbone pain for three days which disappeared after I purged in prep for my colonoscopy.  Colonoscopy clear.  To sum up my symptoms:

spotting between periods (2 years)
shorter cycle (21 days) and heavier longer periods (since April)
loose stools, diarrhea, gas, nausea, bloating (all the time, but most severe in March and sometimes worse during menses)
no appetite, weight loss, (in March, these syptoms have improved)
pelvic and low back pain, pressure to bladder and rectum, night sweats (worsen during and after menses)
Occassional involuntary rigidity (lower left quadrant)
And (may or may not be asssociated) right shoulder pain, aching in arms and legs

Ultrasound in April showed grapefruit sized fibroid and 1 cm polyp.  On visit to gyno last month he found a large mass on or near my left ovary in addition to fibriod.  When he touched it I felt some cramping (is this normal).

MRI booked for next week, waiting anxiouly.

My question is:  I know this definitely could be cancer and am taking the right steps to get a proper diagnosis, but is it possible this is benign, does it sound like endometriosis or anything else.  Also, why was the ovarian mass missed in my ultrasound?  Thank you SOOOO so much for your help.

Dr Goodman,

Thank you so much for taking the time to reply to me.  Yes I will keep you posted.  Good news is my CA-125 results were 14 although I am aware there is a high rate of false negetive but it does give me some comfort.

Hi There
you are getting a good evaluation. It sounds to me like you need surgery for diagnosis and treatment. It is not possible to diagnose a malignancy prior to surgery. However there is enough information here to say that you need surgery to remove that mass.
Yes it most definitely can just be endometriosis

please let us know what happens
best wishes
