Should I postpone treatment?

I have been old by my Dr that I have ovarian cancer.
I realize that this cannot be confirmed until removed and tested.
Iguess I'm confused as I feel so well.
I have bilateral complex cystic masses measuring 12 x. 10 x 11cm each side. They are vascular, have solid components and are occulated.
My ca125 was13, there is no evidence of spread or seeding, no free fluid.

I am a 45 yr old  married mum of 5.

I'm strong and healthy.

What do you think?? It's hard to believe because I feel so well.
Do you think there is any rush for treatment? I have plans to travel overseas at the end of march. Should I put off surgery??

I second everything gls said.  Please try to get in to see a gynocologist oncologist. They specialize in this type of thing. Cancer cannot be diagnosed without a biopsy. There are many benign conditions, even tumors and masses that are benign.

And besides seeing a gyn/onc, if it is cancer, don't delay treatment. The earlier it is caught the better.

Good luck and let us know how everything goes.

Hi, the Dr is a gyno. My next appoint is with a gyno/ onc... In two weeks..

His Dx was made from results from a transvaginal scan, abdo/ pelvic ultrasound and ct scan.

I guess I waiver between thinking that I have it to no way.. I'm far to well. I know that the disease can be very asympotmatic..

The whole thing has come as a bit of a shock. I requested the scan from my GP as I thought that I may have a prolapsed uterus as I have had big babies and could feel a thickening in my abdo.

It's quite  sereal.

the saying ....Ignorance is bliss...does have some merrit!

Is your doctor a gynecologic oncologist? If not, you should see one as soon as you can.  I don't know how your doctor knows it's cancer without surgery.

I wouldn't wait to go further.  But seeing the right kind of doctor is key.  If there is a chance it's cancer, you want to get a handle on it as soon as you can.  The earlier it's caught the better.

Some women have no symptoms at all.  That's what makes this disease so hard to catch in its early stages.
