Should i push for referral

Hi
I have a 6 week history of worsening bloating to the point i can't wear any of my trousers. I have missed one period and had spotting (not pregnant!), i have pain in my right groin and back ache. I saw my GP who reluctantly arranged an ultrasound which i had yesterday. I have a cyst of my right ovary described as containing organised low level echoes. My GP doesn't think it is to be worried about and says to just take painkillers. Should i be pushing for a gynae referral? I know most cyst are just that but don't want to sit on something i shouln't.
Thanks ladies x

Most cysts are benign, but until that is correctly diagnosed never assume!!
Absolutely go see your GYN, if there is any suspicion then you should have an MRI which is more precise. Again if there is anything abnormal I would have a gyn/oncologist evaluate you. I am not saying you have cancer but a gyn/oncologist is the correct Dr to make the right diagnoses.
Good Luck
