Squeaky Wheel

Just wanted to say I found another gyn-onc in the area who will see me next Tuesday.  That coupled with an MRI on Monday, I think I can finally have a peaceful weekend. What I can control, is happening, the rest I cannot control.
Just want to remind everyone that it isn't comfortable being the squeaky wheel, but I've spent the whole week doing as much as I can to be seen asap, and finally found someone to see me.
Keep demanding good care, I will too!

Oh dont get me started again. I was just about to fall asleep last night when I started accumulating the waiting periods again. I wish I would stop doing that. I still cant believe they dont do staging in the OR. Waiting another 2 weeks for the results and if its bad news having to book another op to open me again

GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR. I think I need to start reading the serenity prayer before I loose the plot.

You GO girlfriend!!! Keep it up. I understand. I TOO am a well oiled wheel, and I'm working against my own grain too when advocating for myself medically. You're a good influence. :) Suz

Hi Linda times two and Been There . . . yes, I am actually happy tonight.  Still scared, feeling alone, but happy that something is taking place.
I'll keep you posted, and all of us need to just not take "no" for an answer, at any turn.

I have been pushing and hand delivering films, reports and labs to each doctor I have seen.  I have gone for every test they have ordered.  I have dropped what I am doing at work for an earlier appt.  But I am still in the dark.

It was 4/15/06 that I went to urgent care for severe flank pain.  They did a CT and reported a 5mm kidney stone, a LARGE heterogeneous mass (likely fibroid) arising from uterus, and two cysts in my left ovary.

Since then, each report has "seen" or "not seen" something different.

I am not dragging my feet or being meek and mild.  I AM getting cranky.

Hey there kid...cranky is good....they are just lucky you don't smack somebody upside the head!  This has gone on long enough...you are nearly two months into this thing...I would be cranky too. All you can do at this point is continue pushing or throw the bums overboard and find a new medical team ....make certain you have copies of all your test reports and go for it if that is possible. Good luck....don't oil that wheel yet...not until you get the results you seek.
Peace.

Grateful--I am so glad you did this.  I was sitting and waiting for my Gyn to call me with an appt for a colonoscopy since he said I would ahve to get one, but he didn't call.  So when I called him, his nurse said, "Oh, we don't give a script for that or set it up or refer you--you have to go to your GP for that."  So why was I never told that?  WE have to take charge because no one else is going to.

Emmee--I can't believe you have been waiting so long--that REALLY REALLY tees me off!  What do these doctors think we are there for--to have a nice chat and write them a check?????  Please keep us posted on your progress!!!
