I was diagnosted ovarian cancer stage 1A ( pT1AN0M0) G2 carcionoma 30percent and G1 endmetro adenocarcinoma 70 percent. In 2007 Novemer i had total Hysterectomy . Now i am after 3 courses chemoterapy with carboplatin.   How may chemoterapy courses do you recomend?

Hi There,
That is a good question . Currently we do not have an answer with good statistics about whether 4 chemotherapies are better or worse than 6. decisions are made based on risk factors for recurrence.  Your type of cancer has a low risk of recurrence.

Will 6 cycles kill the clear cell type for good?

Hi there,
We standardly recommend 3 to 4 cycles of chemo for stage I ovarian cancers. the exception if grade 3 cancers of any type and clear cell cancer where we recommend 6 cycles of carboplatin and taxol chemo.
