I'm worried and unsure of what to think. Please help?

I have been having stabbing vaginal pain and abnormal uterine bleeing for well over a year now.  I have been to the doctor and she removed polyps, cysts, and fibroids and told I have enlarged ovaries.  The doctor said that should stop the pain and abnormal bleeding which it has not.  I had a hysteroscopy, laparoscopy, d&C, and pap smear.  The biopsy of a lesion above my bladder came back normal.  Is it normal to be told the same day that the biopsy results were normal.  I have periods that often last from 9-16 days and leave for 7-20 days.  Sometimes my bleeding is so bad I have to wear an adult diaper along with 2 pads.  I have been checked for anemia and the results always come back normal.  Half way through the day I feel like I'm going to die.  I get dizzy and feel like I'm going to pass out and never come to.  I've never fainted but the feeling is very strong and gets worse after I eat.  I was also told I am vitamin D deficient.  I am very frustrated because I feel like no one is listening to me.  The vaginal pain can be so intense that it feels like I'm being knifed or raped by several men all at once.  My Father passed away last April of Small Cell Lung Cancer, my Mother is in Remission for Throat Cancer and two Aunts are in Remission for Breast Cancer.  I am very concerned.  I am a black female with P.C.O.S. and pre-diabetic.  I am also obese.  I have never dated and married my husband the day I agreed to meet and marry him as per my religion.  I get dizzy when I'm on my period and am frightened that I have Cancer and just feel the symptoms early as did my Mother.  M Father ignored his.  I am already 31-years-old and have been told it will be difficult to have children because of the P.C.O.S.  Does anyone have any suggestions?  My sister also has P.C.O.S. and many of the same problems I have but not to the same severity.

I have PCOS and the ONLY thing that helps is to straighten out the hormones taking a drug such as metformin. The pain you are feeling could very well be structural pain due to your weight.

Obesity is VERY common with PCOS and actually keeps the cycle going. Without the Metformin, you will NOT lose any weight. You can cut back on food and exercise more and you might see some results but it will be a much harder road without the drug. Your body hypersecretes insulin in response to sugar which is what's causing all the issues. Once you solve that problem, all the other problems will begin to resolve.

Thank you for your post.  It's always nice to have someone actually listen to you.  I have tried to lose weight and it is very difficult for me to do so for whatever reason.  I have been eating fruits and vegetables and staying away from bread for over a month yet the severe fatigue, bladder pain, vaginal pain and abnormal bleeding persists and I only lost 8 pounds and have recently gained it all back.  I have been tested for STDs and urinary tract infections and always come up negative.  My urologist insisted it must be in my head because she can't find anything and questioned whether or not I understood where the bladder was located which was insulting, humiliating and diheartening.  I have very painful intercourse to the point that I almost completely avoid it.  It hurts to even be aroused.  I never did like intercourse but now I hate it.  If you can imagine being knifed or raped by several male units all at once then you could understand the pain.  I have stomach pain, bloating and gas, and severe back pain which forces me to sleep in a recliner.  i barely sleep because of the pain.  I don't know what to do.  I've been on my period since Saturday the 11th and its an odd spotting.  The time limit is normal for me because I can go for 16 days but the amount is very little which is not like me.  I usually have a lot of blood and huge blood clots.  I'm sorry to be so graphic.  I am very frustrated and about to give up on doctors completely.  I've been dealing with these problems for over a decade but it only got worse when I started having relations which was 6 months after my wedding day because I was afraid of the pain.  Each time feels like the first time.  I have these odd thrills that go through my bladder and clitoris and shoot into my foot at times.  Feels like going down a steep hill or on a roller coaster.  It is very annoying and hurts to walk because my bladder feels bloated and constantly full.  If anyone has any suggestions I as to what this could be I would be forever greatful.  Thank you.

Some preliminary biopsy results come back the same day.  Others need to be sent to laboratories.  Ask your doctor.  Your doctor needs to be addressing your excessive bleeding.  There are treatments.

Make a list of all your questions and see your doctor.  If she cannot answer all of them and treat your symptoms, then it might be time to find another doctor.

If you and your sister live near one another, you can be advocates and help one another by going to the doctor together.  One of you can be examined while the other takes notes.  You can remind one another of questions to write down for a doctor's visit.

I hope that you are not limited to female doctors because of your religion.  Dear, you must start losing weight and excercising appropriately immediately through a diet monitored by a health professional to insure your success.  Obesity brings on a host of problems other than diabetes including:  strain on all major organ function to support excess weight, it can make surgeries far more risky, high blood pressure, stroke and breakdown of hips, knees and feet.  Should pregnancy occur, a high risk pregnancy, fetal death or toxemia and eclampsia.  With each of these risk come a downward spiral of more risks.  Diabetes causes neuropathy (nerve pain) in limbs and there is lack of blood flow which can lead to sores and ultimately amputation, pulmonary problems like COPD, vision problems--including blindness and heart disease.  Not trying to frighten you but the list is endless.  For charity work, I visit a lovely young black woman that has all these things that the weight has caused. I think you are probably a very beautiful, beautiful lady with a beautiful heart and love of family.  Please, please deal with the weight situation imeediately.  The first part of action is admitting we have a problem.  You have already done that here.  You are off to a good start.  Make an appointment to see your doctor.  Ask here to answer your questions and refer you for medical weight loss immediately.  You are on your way!  Blessings!
