Store Shooting

Just wanted to let you all know that that store shooting is right where I used to live and shop before I moved a few months ago.  I was actually headed there, today, at that time, to the Payless to get boots for my daughter but decided to go to the Target closer to me.  It's still only about a mile from my home.  Very awful happenings.  That mall, though, has had its share of crime since it opened a couple years ago - it's right off the expressway and not a good place, in my opinion, for a mall - it should be industrial.

God Bless the victims and their families........... Eizabeth

Marty - I am so sorry to hear of that tragic event in Iraq as yes I do know of your son.  I can't imagine how that upset you; take comfort in knowing that your son has the best advantage possible with a loving mother and a nation that really basically cares.  God Bless those Iraqi women.  I must admit that I don't keep very good tabs on the daily events in Iraq but know that it is a God-awful situation.  I can't either imagine how difficult it probably is for a woman over there that have these symptoms that we all go through and it's probably the least of her worries.  I too am very cautious shopping lately and I don't go to that mall often anymore as I said there have been car-jackings, robberies, etc. since it opened.  When I take my little one, I just shove her in the car, lock the doors, and drive off with her putting her seatbelt on as we move - probaby not the safest way, but it may be in terms of that.

Kathy - I think I'm just trying to keep busy, but I do so enjoy giving back what has been given to me through this forum and with what I've been through, I can relate to alot of situations on here.  Although we all don't have ovca, and this is an ovca forum, the women here don't take sides and the journey for all of us to get a dx is very long and the outcome of ovca is even a longer journey.  Yes, I am praying that I am a 98%er, but the initial journey's are basically the same (benign and malingnant).

Thanks to all for your thoughts of my upcoming surgery; I am scared but know that you will all be with me in spirit.  I am taking my computer to my Mom's as my husband can bring home his work computer for the house.  So I'll be posting with all sorts of questions, I'm sure!

Best to all... Elizabeth

The shooting in Illinois was reported on our news here too.... really terrible. The loss of life anytime is shocking, but to have lives taken for no apparent reason... that's so awful. I agree Marty... just goes to show how evil these people are. It seems even disabled people are not protected from these disgusting people.
Just want to wish all the girls having surgery this coming week, all the best, and hoping for great news soon.  Hugs to all...Helen...

It is getting so I look around me very carefully  when at the mall,  what a tragic loss for those 5 women. I also had a bad time with news yesterday, when I heard that the terrorists in Iraq used 2 Downs Syndrome women to blow up, by remote control, explosives to kill so many innocent standers by. As you know I have a 37 year old son with Downs and  to know that the innocent are being used in this terrible way, hurt me deeply.

Hi Elizabeth,

I'm new to the forum...I'm trying to get to know people from their posts.  First, thank you for posting this about the shooting.  Is this a new event, or was this in reference to the Omaha Mall shooting in December? You are wonderful to be thinking about the victims at a time when there is a surgery in your immediate future.  Not only that, but you've responded to so many postings in the past few hours.  It's incredible that you are reaching out to comfort others.  Bless you. : )

Mostly, I wanted to wish you well on your upcoming hysterectomy.  Been there, done that.  It was NOT bad.  They gave me a morphine drip to use for pain, and when they emptied it on the third day of my hospital stay, they asked me how often I used it?  I said twice, on the first day.  They said hon, you were supposed to use it every ten minutes!  I just didn't hurt much. My experience in the hospital was one filled with attentive, compassionate doctors and nurses.  I pray yours will be, also.

Sending you a big hug.  I'll pray for you on the 6th.
