I had pressure in my chest and constantly had shortness of breath..Turned out that I had fluid (pleural effusion) in one lung..this was caused by loose cancer cells. Had to have this drained and tested which lead to GYNO paying more attention to the two masses I had on my ovaries!!! One month later, it was confirmed stage 4 OC.
If at all possible, try to speed up your appointments and consultations...Time is of the essence and this needs to be caught asap.
Good luck and hope you get a clear bill of health
Hi,
Welcome to this great forum!
This is just a thought, but worth mentioning. IF....IF (and, oh, by the way, I am sorry you are having to go through all this)....the mass is on or in the ovary (which I am assuming, and I apologize that I did not look at your profile first since you might have answered that question there, but assuming you are here on this forum, I am guessing that it is ovarian in nature.... you can tell I have learned, though, never to make assumptions :)) anyway - - - my point is this: when there is a cyst/mass/growth that is connected with the ovary there is a chance that you are pumping out extra Estrogen.
I know from my own experience that the fluctuations in estrogen right before my period (years ago) I would get chest pains. I was on the phone with my sister, the nurse, who would always calm my fears. When she had an ovarian cyst her estrogen count sky-rocketed from what would have been normal for her in perimenopause (about 100) to a mind-boggling 900! SHE KNEW there was a problem just by how she felt. She did have other issues and ended up having a radical hysterectomy.
Just remember that your doctor is or at least should be a phone call away and for peace of mind, I hope you have mentioned this pain to the doctor, so that if he or she wanted to further evaluate the chest pressure, then you could at least rule out other problems.
The pain shooting down the leg, side hip pain, and weight gain were all symptoms I had when I had just a little 2cm cyst. It was enough to put me into incredible pain.
Hoping you get some answers soon!
Take care, Mary
