I think that this post has turned into something more or something it was not meant to be. I have been reading a couple of past threads and as Jan214 said there is some"divisiveness". This debate has now turned into whether or not some of us belong here or not. I know alot of you are saying that those who have not been dx with OVCA can post here but I still feel like there is way more to this thread than we are admitting. I for one can say when I first posted here I was terrified, confused, and alone. My Dr. was throwing the "C word" around and he gave me the CA 125 and was scheduling me for an emegency lap. I had no one to talk to, not even my own DR. I came here and I found peace from so many of you. I was a bit hesitant to post so that is why in caps I put that I was not yet dx. I feared rejection from those who were dx with OVCA. But the first person who wrote to me was Shelly. Then so many more,Lori.Jan, Carol, Gia, Donna. You all made more sense than my own DR. Without you I would have never known that cysts hurt, can cause pain on opposite side, etc. I am forever grateful to you all. I do not think that I have OVCA, there is only a 1% chance I do. But now I am calm, I went and got a second opinion, and I know that I am not crazy.
I will say one thing. Some women do come in throwing the C word around over a simple cyst with no other symptoms. I have not even been dx with OVCA and I find those posts annoying! So imagine how the women who have been dx feel. No offense. It is important that women also do their own research. I did. This forum is so necessary women like Kimmie are a perfect example of the power of the women on this forum.

Hi Pily, If in December 2007 your CA 125 tumor marker was 5-6, it's doubtful that even if it's gone up that it would have become very high. You say you have pain in your left side, but is it above the waist or below the waist. If it's above the waist, it might just be acidity. Try taking a few Tums and see if it helps. If it does help, then it's probably just acidity. A lot of women who go through Ovarian Cancer have difficulty with acidity. Now about the constipation. Women who have had ovarian cancer usually go through a hysterectomy. With this particular procedure, the womb is removed. If the stool is hard, the rectum will go into a kink because the womb is not there to keep the rectum in place. When you go to the bathroom you will feel like the stool is lodged in the rectum and won't follow through. To combat this problem it helps to use stool softeners which your doctor can prescribe. Best wishes...
Oh, I agree with the pain issue. I was having terrible pains and werid, unidentifiable pains but my cancer was not back at that time. It could be your body just rejuvenating from chemo. My onc said as things repair and rebuild you might feel like in your teenage years when you had what they called "growing pains".
I hope everything goes well for you next check up, but the fact that your CA125 was 5 two months ago is a very good sign.
Take care
Jan
I am sorry you are feeling bad. You could be having pain from scar tissue and adhesions from the surgery. I have had surgery twice and I have all kinds of unidentified pains. I had a ct done 2 weeks ago because of it and it was clear. The chemos we take and surgery take a toll on our bodies for some time. Hope everything is o.k. for you. Donna
I am so sorry you are feeling the way you are. It's easy to be scared because we know how this disease works. Sometimes though, the fear of the unknown can actually make things worse than they are. Your doctor won't know if your having a recurrence unless you have a CT scan and it shows more cancer. The CA125 marker isn't always a good indicator of a recurrence.
You were diagnosed early stage, which is good...I wish you luck at your appointment.
