Trexall

I believe I found the name of the next treatment the doctor is going to try if the taxoteer does not work, trexall. I have been reading up on this drug and I am praying that I am wrong. If I am reading correctly this drug is used only if the cancer is life threating and that the side effects can cause death, what the heck is this stuff ? Has anyone had this treatment or heard of it ? I may be putting the cart before the horse so to speak but everything is pointing to the grim fact that this taxoteer is not working either. As I posted before she is starting to buildup with fluid, not just her ab area but her legs and feet and the tumors have doubled in size and numbers in just the last two weeks. The tumors are across the whole top of her stomach area and along the bottom as well. The pitt in my own stomach is beginning to grow as well waiting till Wed.,her next appointment. I really appreciate all who posted back, I am thankful for all info, support and kind words that have been offered. hugs to everyone - kimberly

The drug companies do have to list anything that is possible. All these chemo drugs list  terrible side effects. The one I am on lists kidney and bladder damage, some list heart and bowel damage. The doctors know what to moniter the patients for, to stop the drug if it starts problems. Hope it is the one that works.  Best wishes

I looked up trexall, as I had not heard of it before. The side-effects looked similar to many chemo drugs. I think that a drug company has to list death as a possible side-effect even if it is extremely rare. Both of the chemos I used warned of death as a possible side effect. Doctors monitor side-effects and adjust accordingly to keep us safer. Many other drugs, even Tylenol carry some risk of death. I hope whatever she tries works well for her. I wish you both the best.
