not sure what's happening

Hi!
Mymom was diagnosed with OV CA IIIc in spring of 2007. She underwent debulking which was quite successful and followed with the carboplatin/taxol treatment. She had her first recurrance a year later and her onc put her on femara (sp?). Well, that got her through until the next year and her CA125 started to increase again. They went back to the carbo/taxol treatment with not as favorable results as the first time, but still helped some. The onc allowed for a 3 month break before starting Doxil. the Doxil really never did anything for her numbers, maybe brought them down 20 points to 198. So she's taking another "break".  CT scans and MRIs have shown that the cancer has mets to her lymph nodes in her abdomen. What concerns me now is that for about the past year, she has c/o sharp pains in her abdomen and recently feels like she has a bladder infection but without the common symptoms ( burning urination, passing blood, pungent odor). She describes as mostly a full feeling and ache in her lower back and lower pelvis. I'm wanting to know what the reason for the pain is. It breaks my heart to read all of your posts and what makes us so alike is that we are all looking for answers and needing the empowerment of knowledge or needing to be able to find healing through reaching out to eachother. I have started working for hospice since my mom was diagnosed. It helps me to help others, but I don't get any answers! If anyone has any idea what is going on...my mom doesn't tell me alot. I believe she is trying to protect me. BTW...she turned 50 this year and I am 33 and an only child. :) We are close.
                             Thanks, guys.
God bless you all and your loved ones

Her last scans were done a month ago and to my knowledge, she has not been checked for UTI. Reason being that her pain comes and goes and she said that it had subsided the next day.

When were her last scans?   Has she been checked for a UTI?

Working in Hospice, you know that no one should have to be in pain or discomfort.  Can you speak to her doctors?

I am sorry that you and your mom have to go through this.  This disease is evil.

50 is young....very young.  Ovarian Cancer is no longer an "older" persons cancer.

Best of luck to the both of you.
