I have been doing my vitamin C intravenous for 18 months now for High Grade Transitional Cell Carcinoma recent biopsy reveiled still stage 1C as originally dx in 2005.. If I did not use it for so long I would not be here today.
Eventually my Oncologist told me that if I will not follow their recomendations I am on my own that I would not be able to get more MRI's and that I will be sent back to mt GP.
So needles to say they tricked me and I had to agree to chemo.
We discussed at length what I need and she came up with idea to give me only single agent chemo Carboplatin ...taking into consideration what I was doing for the past 18 months. She also admited that I was doing something right to stop progression of my aggressive cancer. I am not out of the woods yet, but I have a QUALITY life and lesser side effects from chemo.
I KNOW VIT C IV works. My cancer is a rare subtype and aggressive one but like I said it's still stage 1C THANKS TO Ascorbic Acid.
It costs me about $100 with tubes and catheters and I am doing this treatment at home.
First chemo I had I was so nausieted and groggy....and when I did my usual Vit C treatment 4 days after chemo + probiotics for nausea my symptoms dissipated completely. So please read lots about it because in Canada there is more and more doctors interested in Vit C IV than even before and I am sure in USA too..
Sunes.
Contact mayo in rochester and see what they will do for you.
I am in the Quad Cities, Moline, IL and want to know if there is a dr within our region (il/ia) who will do Vit c infusions
What I have read about the mechanics of Vitamin C and cancer is that high concentrations in the blood, Vitamin C acts like a toxic drug, causing disease fighting cells in the body to generate more hydrogen peroxide. It's a agent that can attack the tumor cells, yet keep the healthy cells healthy and intact. They say it works hand in hand with standard cancer treatment.
Some other finding that with some cancers, they have to use much higher dosages than they were using before. Now they are finding out they want to obtain certain blood levels of Vitamin C, and at which doses the hydrogen peroxide was greatest.
They also said that the patients don't seem to get many side effects from the chem or conventional radiation. Patients stay in remission longer, and the tumors can shrink.
But there must be something to this Vitamin C because Jefferson University Center for Integrative Medicine is doing too. I also believe Cancer Center of America are doing too.
I am in Minnesota. My sister had surgery, stage 2C, grade 3, Endometroid. She had pain and started Chemo earlier than planned since CT scan showed pelvic mass growing back, what a nightmare. Anyway she seems to be responding to chemo as cancer left on sigmoid caused fistula and CA-125 went from 195 to 95 in first two weeks. Now on second chemo and I am nervous again about second CA-125 test next Monday. I am looking into all options, second chemos, radiotherapy, vitamin C, etc., if she does not have complete response to chemo. I wish people would post more on cell type and grade so we can better match treatments to individual characteristics. I have read good things on radiotherapy in pelvis for those without complete response to 1st line chemo. My question on vitamin C is has anyone with grade 3 tumor and/or endometroid cell type had success? My sister won't have time to try all different options if her cancer is growing fast like they think. I hope and pray it wasn't all cancer. Also thinking of going to Mayo or U of MN, any comments. Thanks.
Dear Diane:
Thanks very much for this info. I pray that it will continue to work on you and put you back in remission.
Thanks
Jatoo
Jatoo and Everyone,
Here is the phone of the Vitamin C nurse I go to and she has a directory of doctors who do this infusion treatment all over the county, if you call her she can look up the closest doctor to you. She help the woman in Portland, ME and my girlfriend's Mother in law in Florida. Her name is Michael Anne McAllister, RN and her phone number is 610-446-5020. She is getting her website done and will be able soon which I will post when it is up and running. It will give you a lot of good information about Vitamin C. Good Luck and my thoughts and prays are with you and your wife. Diane
My original title to this subject should have been Vitamin C and Update on my wife but we are now allowed only 25 lines on this new forum.
So here it goes:
Her last scan two weeks ago showed a significant decrease of ascites, a little shrinkage of her tumor closed to the gall bladder, no more lymph nodes but it showed the scary part of having a film on the surface of her liver (not yet inside of the liver). I knew I was ready for the solution just in case it went to the liver because then you can do radiofrequency ablation which our hospital does. (That's why it is good to be prepared thru research). But all ascites have to be gone first. There are just a few left that does not require tapping (which we both don't like). So the result on the Avastin and Gemzar is quite mixed although it is still very early to tell. She is stable and still strong. We just went shopping today. Her Ca 125 dropped to 116, the lowest in months, but it is now not a good marker for her. That's why people shld not worry too much on CA 125. Her new marker have to be scans every six(6) weeks. Femara, a hormonal drug, is being added. So she has a complete recipe: a chemo-Gemzar, a biologic-Avastin, and a hormonal - Femara. And if you add Vitamin C - alternative, she will then have the total treatment.
We are doing all the human means possible (very important), but if it is the will of God there is nothing we can do. It will be in God's own time. After all, He is the best Doctor in the world. What is 10, 20 or 30 years? Of course our goal is to live a good long life squeezed like a lemon, because to die young would be uneconomical. That's why there is hardly a day that I don't ask for a miracle. That's why you have seen my post begging for prayers. I still have a seven(7) year old son who needs a mom. So please pray for her and thanks for asking.
Also thanks Simply Star for your info here in LA for the Vit C.
Thanks,
Jatoo
Well Im glad that there are changes for the better. You are such a great person/husband and because of you she will receive the best of care/treatment.
I wish for her numbers to keep dropping down along with much better ct scans on her check ups.
I pray for your family and your wife. Yes your right it is in God's will. I am a strong believer of that. We still have to show up a fight and you are doing a great job.
Take care, Jatoo
Hi Jatoo, How is your wife doing?
I contacted my Niece in La Mirada and she knows that St Josephs is doing alternative therapys I believe it is located in Orange county, she has several friends that have OVCA and they have had their treatments there with good results. She mentioned 2 doctors, last names of Micha and Brown. Good Luck , we are persueing this at Mayo in Minn for my daughter.
