Dr Goodman thanks for your response to my last post hope you get time for this question as well. My wifes last Radiation treatment is today. What can we expect as far as the results. Whats the soonest we would know anything on how well it worked or if it worked at all.

Thanks so much

So it looks like we win round 2. Scans show NED and CA125 is at 8. Of course the best thing is no chemo and my wife is ecstatic as am I. Thanks for the support it ment allot to both of us.

Dave.

Dear Dave,
thank you for the follow up
I agree with you. Her doctor has the best sense of what should be done.
There are no wrong answers, but if he thinks consolidation therapy is best, I think that is very reasonable.
take care

Not looking for a response just updating. Her CA 125 was hovering pretty steady at 8 for a year after chemo. Before the surgery it had risen to 25 and after it went down to 12. This time her CA 125 come in slightly elevated by 6 points at 18. We were hoping that it went back down to her base line number of 8 or at least close to it.

Dear Dave
it takes about 6 weeks to three months ot see the full benefit of radiation
usually we would repeat a scan at three months and then decide if further chemotherapy is needed based on the report
please let us know what the scans show
best wishes

Ok so my wife had her Dr's appt. on Friday. Dr. Harris said he was teetering on doing 4 rounds of chemo even before knowing the CA 125 level but decided to wait until the CA 125 came back which has been a very good indicator so far. Should she have it even if the level is low? Seems like it didn't mater either way if he was thinking about doing it without knowing it in the first place. My gut feeling is he should go with his first instinct and do it. She gets scanned on the 20th. Thanks for what you do and I would love to hear your opinion. I know its hard with limited knowledge. Would that be a standard thing to do after radiation?

Thank you
Dave VG
