Weekly Taxol

Im curious to know if anyone here has received weekly taxol for platinum resistance and how it worked for you.

Starting next week my Mom will begin weekly taxol.  Her oncologist said in some cases doing weekly taxol may overcome the platinum drug resistance.  She last received taxotere 2 years ago, so we are hopping she responds to it.
Her disease has progressed a lot in developing ascites, other then that all her organs are untouched.

I am having weekly taxol for 25 weeks after initial Rx with IV/IP Taxol/Carbo for stage 3c. Went into remissionbut this is maintenance for extending progression free.

It is easy as pie. I am interested in ABrite's post that she had it for 16 months,,was that for treatment or maintenance?

I hope it works. Onc says things are favorable but he must think I am at high risk for progression.

Sides are minimal,,just feel tethered to chemo but no problems at all.

Hi, I am not platinum resistant but did receive weekly Taxol for 16 months. If was very tolerable. Hope it does well for your Mom.
