Weird Symptoms and 5cm Complex Cyst

Hi everyone!  I am a 28 year old female and have been going through some crazy medical issues in the past year.  It all started with severe fatigue and severe night sweats, which I initially ignored and hoped would go away.  I then found a large lump on my breast, had an ultrasound and found that I just have very cystic breasts (about 6 in my right breast).  Then, the night sweats and fatigue added a new friend of weight loss for no reason.  I am a very petite woman to begin with so when I lose weight, it is not attractive.  I finally went to my doctor who ran so many blood tests and sent me for a PET and CT scan to rule out lymphoma.  Needless to say, I do not have lymphoma, but a 5cm septated mass was found on my right ovary.  My GYN at the time was not too worried about it and started me on BC (which I didn't take, because I was a smoker at the time) and I had to have a follow up US in 3 months.  Well, I had my US done a week ago and they found a 5cm complex cyst with mural nodules. I went to a new GYN on Monday who said that I should go for a MRI to figure out where to go next with this.  My MRI is tomorrow and it is kind of freaking me out because I am claustrophobic.  I am hoping I will not have to go all the way in the machine.  I guess my question (after this very long story) is if any of these symptoms I am having have anything to do with this mass/cyst.  I mean I have always had really bad periods with extremely painful cramps and heavy bleeding, but other than that, never the "normal" symptoms of a cyst.  I know that night sweats are a prime symptom for a few different cancers, but I don't know if it is a symptom of ovarian cancer.  If anyone could help I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks so much!

So I had my MRI done yesterday and was just called this evening with my results. Apparently I have 2 endometriomas, one on each ovary and endometriosis. I am very happy with these results, but I'm just a little confused. My US read that I had a 5cm complex cyst and my MRI read that I had two 1cm endometriomas on each ovary. I just don't understand where the larger cyst could have went in a week. I hope the US is wrong and not the MRI. Has anyone else had a weird thing like this? Please let me know! Thanks!!

The symptoms of ovarian cancer, ovarian cysts, IBS and about 100 syndromes are the same.   Did the cyst on your ovary "light up" on the PET Scan?

My suggestion would be, and no I do not think that you have cancer, to see a GYN/Oncologist, they are the experts with 3 years additional training and often treat benign conditions.  Maybe you can ask for a referral or send copies of your tests to a GYN/Oncologist.

Ovariain cancer is a rare disease and most cysts are benign.  Hold on to that thought.

Let us know how it all goes.
