Worried about Laparoscopy steps

I intend to have a laprascopy surgery soon. However I really need a few clarifications because I'm afraid of some issues.

Understand that an airway may be placed in your throat to help breathe if general anesthesia is used, which is in my case. However, most gynae do not recommend that. Will there be a risk for me?

Can the operation not have the thin tube to be put through the vagina into the uterus? I think the area will be very sore after the operation? Can I still pee as normal?

I was also advised by most gynae to insert a tablet in the day before but I decline to do it. Is there a risk if I do not have the tablet in the vagina? Any advice will be appreciated.

I have had 4 laporoscopies and I have been fine.  The surgery is done through a small incision in your belly button and a small incision above your hair line.  It is recommended by some dr.'s to take gas medicine the night before your surgery to alleviate any gas pressure after surgery.  My abdomen was sore for a couple of days but I made it a point to walk around and not stay in bed a lot.

I think you will be ok and I hope you feel better soon and are on a fast recovery

Hi There,
I have pasted a nice website. you should go and look around it.

http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/article/003918.htm

In general. all laparosocpy in the operating room is done with general anesthesia. A breathing tube is placed in the throat to protect the person's lungs while they are asleep.

best wishes
