Ditto I'll also add to watch for excessive burping/acid reflux. I encountered esophogeal ulcers from Doxil. I also had painful rashes on my arms and legs. I had to delay treatment twice and had 2 dose reductions because of the side effects.
The most common side effects of DOXIL are:
•Hand-Foot Syndome (HFS): Tingling or burning, redness, flaking, bothersome swelling, small blisters, or small sores on palms of hands or soles of feet
•Stomatitis: Painful redness, swelling, or sores in the mouth
•Fever: A fever of 100.5oF or higher
•Neutropenia: Low white blood cell count
•Nausea, vomiting, tiredness, weakness, rash, shortness of breath, or mild hair loss
•Loss of appetite
•Diarrhea
avoid hot water , take tepid showers, hot soups, spicey food, suck ice chips during infusion, ask for ice bags for ankles and wrists during infusion, COQ10 for the heart, blood work every month, stress test on heart, avoid tight clothes, bright sun, don't get overly tired, stay away from anyone with a cold, watch for constipation, use a stool softener,
good luck Marty
