How can i help my mother in-law with her gas,bloating,and acidy taste in her mouth ?  She doesn't know what she can or can't eat.  She had a very intense surgery to remove her stage 3-c ovarian cancer tummors.  Everthing she is trying to eat is not sitting well with her.

I ate oodles of saltine crackers with American cheese slices melted on the top.  I liked canned peaches too.

Potato chips, saltines, crusty white bread, all in small doses.  I like hot tea with lemon, personal preference.  Could not tolerate anything with too much flavor.

comfort goods as Msjazz recommended.. I could only tolerate bread, pasta and no meat at all.. also 7 up with ice cream and root beer floats.. macaroni and cheese all carb heavy but we seem to tolerate them the best..  Sure hope she feels better soon.

Can she take pepcid or prilosec? I was ok'd for them, but you might need to check with her dr.. Maybe on foods baked chicken, creamed or baked potatoes, popsicles, sherbert, light toast, soft scrambled egg, some vegetables like cooked mashed carrots, asparagus (tender like in can). I could tolerate cheerios after they softened in milk. Try eating small portions several times a day vs. meals. No fatty, fried, spicy foods. Hope she feels better soon.
