anaemia

Hi!

After surgery,  doctors are injecting iron into my mother' s blood as she is anaemic.
Has any of you faced anaemia after chemo or surgery?
Could it be due to recurrence?
Thanks a lot

I am a year out from chemotherapy and surgery for stage IV ovarian cancer and am still somewhat anemic.. I took injections once a week for months... 3 months after my surgery I need several blood transfusions and platelets to bring me back up... It is not uncommon... and has nothing to do with a reocuurence...

thanks so so so so much!

opinions and words of women from this site are sometimes more cheering than doctor's. She has just done 3rd surgery and I think it's due to blood she lost during it.

A big hug

Since spring I have been anemic after chemo treatment  for stage iv ovca. Get procrit shots, have had several red cell and platelet transfusions since May. Also take iron tablets 3x a day. My onoc will not give chemo if blood counts are low.
